Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
You can tell a tree by its fruit. Not by what it says it is — by what it produces. A mango tree doesn't try to produce mangoes. It just stays connected to the root, and the fruit comes naturally.
The fruit of the Spirit is not a checklist of behaviors to perform. It's the natural result of staying connected to Jesus. When you abide in Him — when you stay rooted in His Word, His presence, His community — love, joy, peace, and the rest start to show up in your life without you forcing them.
The question is not "am I trying hard enough?" The question is "am I staying connected?"
Lord, help me to stay connected to You so that Your fruit grows naturally in my life. I can't produce it on my own — but You can through me. Amen.
I block the lie that I have to manufacture spiritual fruit through effort alone. I stay connected to Jesus — and the fruit grows naturally from that connection.
John 15:5 (NIV)
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
