The Reality of Sin

Week 2
🏐Receive

Romans 3:23 (NIV)

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

🏐Set

Even the best volleyball players in the world miss serves, hit balls out of bounds, and shank passes. Every point comes from someone's mistake — either your team or the other side. We all know it — no one is perfect.

No matter how hard we try, we all fall short. It's easy to compare ourselves to others and think we're doing "good enough," but God's standard isn't other people — it's perfection.

This isn't meant to discourage us — it's meant to show us the truth. God is perfect but we all need help. We all need Jesus Christ, who lived the perfect life we couldn't live.

🏐Attack

God, I have fallen short time and time again — on and off the court. Please forgive my pride and my tendency to compare myself to others. Help me focus on You and rest in Your love. Amen.

🏐Block

I block the lie that it's all up to me or that I'm 'good enough' on my own. I know I need God, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

🏐Dig

1 John 1:8 (NIV)

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

🏐Serve
  1. 1

Where do you tend to compare yourself to others instead of looking to God?

  2. 2

What would it look like to be honest about your need for Him?
