1 Corinthians 12:7 (NIV)
"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good."
Every player on a volleyball team has a role. The setter sets. The libero digs. The outside hitter attacks. Nobody does everything — and the team needs everyone.
God has given every believer spiritual gifts — not for their own benefit, but for the common good. Teaching. Encouragement. Generosity. Leadership. Mercy. These aren't personality traits — they're Spirit-given tools for building the body of Christ.
Do you know your gifts? Are you using them? The team needs what only you can bring.
Holy Spirit, show me the gifts You've given me. Help me to use them faithfully for the good of others and the glory of God. Amen.
I block the lie that I don't have anything to offer. God has given me spiritual gifts for the common good — and I will use them.
Romans 12:6 (NIV)
"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith."
What do you think your spiritual gifts are — and how are you currently using them?
How does knowing your gifts are for the "common good" change how you think about them?
