James 1:3-4 (NIV)
"Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
Nobody likes waiting. Nobody likes the process. Everyone wants the result — the win, the breakthrough, the answer — right now.
But James says the testing of your faith produces perseverance. And perseverance, when it finishes its work, produces maturity. Completeness. A faith that doesn't crack under pressure.
In volleyball, the players who become great are not the ones with the most natural talent. They're the ones who stayed in the gym when it was hard. Who kept serving when they were tired. Who let the process do its work. Let patience finish its work in you.
Lord, help me to trust the process. Give me the patience to let perseverance finish its work — so I become mature and complete in You. Amen.
I block the lie that waiting means God isn't working. The testing of my faith produces perseverance — and I will let patience finish its work.
Romans 5:3-4 (NIV)
"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
